East Bay Open Studios 2011, June 4-5 and June 11-12: During
the first two weekends in June, and throughout the year by
appointment, East Bay Open Studios connects the public with over 400
artists in 14 cities in the East Bay. Since 1979, this event remains
the largest art event in the region and draws an annual audience over
50,000. This year, more than 400 artists will participate. For details

One of those studios is NIMBY, located at 8410 Amelia Street, near
81st Avenue in East Oakland. You will see everything from live music
performances to rusty mechanical art and everything in between. Open
June 4 from 10 am to June 5 , 3 pm and again June 11 12. ?

got my start as a public official by working to save music in the
schools. So it is with great pleasure that I serve as honorary chair of
this event which
benefits music, education and outreach programs in local schools and
features musicians from Great Wall Youth Orchestra, Oakland Youth
Orchestra, Oakland Symphony Chorus, MUSE Orchestra and the Symphony.
